• Check in, unpack, and a little geology of this less-traveled region of France

• Introductory wine tasting with David, Doug & Koffi

• Dinner together at wine restaurant

Day 2 Sunday, September 27: Saint Guilhem-le-Désert (B,L)

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Travel to historic Saint Guilhem-le-Dèsert
• What do you know about the wines of Frontignan?
• Dimanche midi, French country style
• Two nights at Le Guilhaume d’Orange in Saint Guilhem-le-Désert

Day 3 Monday, September 28: Languedoc (B, L, D)

• Breakfast at the auberge
• Wines of AOC Languedoc, AOC Pic Saint Loup, Aniane, AOC Faugéres, AOC Terrasses de Larzac, Pezenas
• Geology of the Languedoc, Mediterranean coast and Cevennes mountain range
• Lunch in Aniane
• Wines of Mas de Daumas Gassac, Mas Laval
• Dinner at Le Guilhaume d’Orange

Day 4 Tuesday, September 29: Carcassone (B,D)

• Breakfast at the auberge
• Travel to the Côte Vermeille and Collioure on Mediterranean coast
• Geology of the Corbières, Carcassonne and Limoux
• Wines and terroir of AOC St. Chinian, AOC Minervois, AOC Cabardès
• Lunch on your own in Carcassonne
• Tour and tasting at Domaine Baron’Arques Rothschild
• History of the Albigensian Crusade and the Cathars
• Dinner together 

• 3 nights at Hotel near Collioure harbor

Geology of the Pyrenees - Part I; Le Canigou and French Catalonia

Lunch in Perpignan
Wines and terroir of Rivesaltes and the Côtes-du-Roussillon Villages Maury, Tautavel, Latour-de-France and beyond
Visit the Cathar castle of Queribus
Tour and tasting at Mas Amiel
Evening to enjoy Collioure


Day 6 Thursday, October 1: Where the Pyrenees dive into the Mediterranean (B,L,D)

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Geology and wines of Catalonia
• Geology of the Pyrenees: Part II - Spain, Subduction and Schist
• Wines and terroir of the steep vineyards on the Mediterranean: Collioure and Banyuls-sur-Mer
• Picnic lunch on the Mediterranean coast
• World’s best artisanal vinegar?
• Tour and tasting in Banyuls-sur-Mer
• Surprise visit on the Spanish frontier
• Farewell dinner on the harbor in Collioure

Day 7 Friday, October 2: Au revoir les amis (B)

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Au Revoir les amis de la géologie et du vin
• Guidance with transport to TGV - Perpignan
