- Guidance with transport at tour’s end

What’s Not Included:

- Passport or visa fees, photos, immunizations, or other travel documentation fees

- Airfare for flights to and from France

- Train fare or other travel before and after the tour

- Airline or train transfers and baggage handling

- Personal items such as souvenirs or wines that might be purchased for personal use

- Other items noted as optional or not specifically mentioned as included

- Optional travel insurance including cancellation/delay/lost baggage insurance

 

Climatic and Topographic Considerations:

The tour involves being outdoors for extended periods of time, walking daily over uneven ground, paved and unpaved roads, cobblestone streets, hills and stairs. Please wear comfortable (preferably waterproof) hiking shoes. The weather in the region will likely cool down at this time of year; we may get some rain and cold winds. Please pack accordingly; we recommend waterproof/windproof outerwear.

 

Reservations:

Reservations can be made at www.WineAndGeologyTours.com. A booking will be final  when:

1. your Deposit and Balance have been paid; and

2. we have received your signed “Wine and Geology Tours LLC Waiver of Liability”; and

3. we send the final confirmation to you.

 

Deposits and Final Payment:

A deposit of $600 per person is required at the time of booking. Deposits are applied to final payment of the tour price. Final payment is due 90 days prior to the tour’s start date. If full payment is not received by the final payment due date, your place cannot be guaranteed on the tour. If a booking is made within 60 days of departure, full payment for the tour will be required.

 

Payments:

Payments may be made by credit card online or check. If you pay your deposit by check, your reservation will be confirmed once your payment has cleared the bank. Checks returned by the bank will incur a $100 returned check fee.

 

Waitlist:

If the tour is fully booked, you may choose to be placed on a waitlist. Individuals on the waitlist will be contacted in the order received if and when space becomes available. You may withdraw from the waitlist by contacting us.

 

Cancellations by You and Refunds:

To cancel your booking, please submit your request to us in writing by email. Cancellation refunds will be applied according to the following schedule, based on the date we receive your written notification:

 

Deposit:

Cancellation within 7 days of booking: Full refund (unless it is within final payment date, 90 days prior to start date)

Cancellation after 7 days of booking: Full deposit retained

 

Balance of trip fees:

Cancellation between 90 - 60 days prior to start date: 50% refund less deposit

Cancellation within 60 days prior to start date: No refund

 

No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of a tour once the tour begins, including if you leave a tour or are removed from a tour for any reason. There are no exceptions to this cancellation and refund policy, including for reasons related to weather, terrorism, civil strife, personal, family or medical emergencies or any other circumstances beyond our control. For these reasons, we strongly encourage you to purchase Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance.

 

Cancellations by Us:

Cancellation by Wine and Geology Tours: Full Refund*;

or Credit towards future tour.

* less non-refundable deposits made on your behalf for hotels or local suppliers.

This refund will constitute full settlement of claims you may have arising out of our cancellation.

No refunds will be provided due to cancellations or changes due to Force Majeure.

 

Flexibility:

Please recognize that amenities, accommodations, transportation, route, schedule, and itinerary may change without prior notice due to local circumstances or geopolitical events, which may include mechanical breakdown, flight cancellations, illness, strikes, political disputes, weather, and other unforeseeable factors. In such cases, we will, as soon as reasonably possible, notify you of known changes and available alternatives. Every effort will be made to operate tours as planned, but alterations may occur after the final itinerary has been issued.

 

Promotional Photography:

Wine and Geology Tours LLC reserves the right to take photographs and/or videos during the tour and to use them for promotional purposes. By booking a reservation with Wine and Geology Tours LLC you agree to allow your images to be used in such photographs and/or videos. Those who prefer that their images not be used are asked to identify themselves to the tour leaders at the beginning of the tour.

COVID Policy for Wine and Geology Tour (WAGT) Travelers:
At WAGT, we prioritize your health and safety. We recommend that all travelers are fully vaccinated with a CDC-approved vaccine at least two weeks before the tour starts. Booster shots are optional. While masks are optional, we recommend that you bring your own N95, KN95, or equivalent masks in case local laws or conditions require their use.

If you develop COVID symptoms during the tour, you must follow local quarantine protocols and will not be able to continue with the tour. WAGT will assist you with quarantine logistics, but you will be responsible for the associated costs. Please check with your travel insurance policy as it may cover related expenses. We will refund $200-per-day for the days of the tour you miss.

WAGT reserves the right to modify this COVID policy based on changing circumstances or guidance from health authorities. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe and enjoyable tour experience.
